If you know the temperature you are intending to keep in your cooler, locate the corresponding "Desired
STEP 1
Temperature Range" column where your temperature is found and proceed to STEP 2. If you don't know what
temperature to use, locate your application under "Common Uses" and use the corresponding Temperature
Range Column to proceed to STEP 2.
STEP 2 Locate the row that matches the dimensions of your cooler.
 If your dimensions are different than the ones listed, choose the row with an area (Length x Width) that is
closest to the area of your cooler.
STEP 3 Find the required A/C size in BTUs at the intersection of the column from STEP 1 and the row from STEP 2.
 For coolers with ceilings higher than 8 ft. but less than 10 ft., increase the size of the A/C to the next size.

All recommendations assume an airtight cooler with an 8-ft. ceiling, insulation value of at least R25, and less than
6 door openings per hour.
EXAMPLE: A cooler for hunting with 8' by 10' dimensions (8' height), would require a 15K BTU (15,000 BTUs) A/C unit.
