It adopts embedded Linux OS to maintain reliable operation and the H.264 compression algorithm to provide high quality, low bit streams. The unique frame-by-frame playback function is ideal for detail analysis.

    2 Getting Started 2 Getting Started This section describes how to startup and login to the system, as well as how to set up and perform the most commonly used local menu operations. For information on the full local menu set, refer to section 3 Menu Operations on page 29.

There are seven icons: Search, Info, Setting, Remote Device, Advanced, Backup and Shutdown. You can also open the Main Menu by right-clicking and selecting Main Menu form the context menu. USB backup devices include USB burners, flash drives, SD cards and portable hard disk drives (HDD). To setup USB Backup: 1. Click the Backup button on the Main Menu. The larger the number, the higher the contrast is. You can use this function when the whole video bright is OK but the contrast is not proper.

Channel Status tab Here you can view the IPC status of the corresponding channel, which includes motion detection, video loss, camera masking and alarm.

Select a channel from the dropdown list and then set the start time and end time. Click the Search button to view the remote connection log of the current channel.

There are two options: stop recording or rewrite. If the current working HDD is overwritten or the current HDD is full while the next HDD is not empty, then the system stops recording, If the current HDD is full and the next HDD is not empty, then the system overwrites the previous files.

MAC address The LAN host has a unique MAC address.

The value ranges from 1280-7200 bytes. The default setup is 1500 bytes. MTU modification can affect current network service and may result in a reboot of the network adapter.

Multicast sends IP datagrams to a group of receivers in a single transmission. When there are multiple hosts to receive the same data packet, multicast is the best option to reduce the bandwidth and the CPU load.
