STANDARD ACCESSORIES
Aux. handle (3).
A grinding wheel is included in the standard accessories
for some countries.
APPLICATION
Use only for the purpose listed below:
- Grinding
NOISE BUILD-UP
Noise (sound pressure level) in the workplace can exceed
85 dB (A). In this case, sound insulation and hearing
protection measures must be taken by the operator.
SWITCH
To switch on the unit - use your index finger to press
forward the safety lock (6) and then press the
ON / OFF switch (5).
To switch off the unit - just release the ON / OFF
switch (5).
TOOL-LESS WHEEL GUARD
Release the wheel guard lock lever (12) then turn the
tool-less wheel guard (2) to the desired position.
The max. turning axle is 90º on either side; otherwise the
guard can't be locked.
MOUNTING THE GRINDING WHEEL
Attach the disc flange (7), the grinding wheel (1) and
the clamp nut (8) to the spindle shaft (9).
Be sure that the disc flange is properly seated on the
spindle shaft.

Depress the lock button (11) located on the right side
of gear case.
Using the wrench (10) provided, tighten the clamp nut
in a clockwise direction.
OPERATING (FIG. 3)
The key to efficient operating is controlling the pressure
and surface contact between the disc and work piece.
Flat surfaces are ground at an acute angle, usually 10 to
20 degrees with the work piece. Allow the disc to reach
full speed before starting to grind. Too great an angle
causes concentration of pressure on a small area which
may gouge or burn work surface.
LIVE TOOL INDICATOR
This tool features a live tool indicator (13) which
illuminates as soon as the tool is connected to the supply.
This warns the user that the tool is connected and will
operate when the switch is pressed.

MAINTENANCE

After use, check the tool to make sure that it is in good
condition. It is recommended that you take this tool to a
Ryobi Authorized Service Center for a through cleaning
and lubrication at least once a year.

REFERENCE.

cracks in the wheel. Replace a cracked wheel
immediately.
KEEP SAFETY GUARDS IN PLACE.
NEVER COVER THE AIR VENTS SINCE THEY
MUST ALWAYS BE OPEN FOR PROPER
MOTOR COOLING.
DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS WHILE
THE MOTOR IS IN MOTION.
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER CORD
FROM THE SOCKET BEFORE CHANGING
REMOVABLE OR EXPENDABLE PARTS
(GRINDING DISC, CUTTING DISC, ETC.),
BEFORE LUBRICATING OR WORKING ON
THE UNIT.

be performed by an authorized service center or
other qualified service organization.
