4. Preparatory work

4.1. Winding thread on to the bobbin

You can use the sewing machine to quickly and easily wind thread onto the
bobbins.
To do so, take the thread from the cotton reel through the thread guide (1) to
the bobbin.
The exact procedure for winding thread on to the bobbin is described in the
following points:
 Set the selector switch (22) in the hand wheel (21) to the bobbin symbol,
so that the needle (26) does not move during winding.
 Place one of the cotton reel holders (15) in the appropriate slots and place
a cotton reel on it.
 Now guide the thread from the cotton reel through the thread guide (1) as
illustrated. Pass the thread from the front to the back through the thread
guide (1) so that the thread crosses itself.
 Put the end of the thread through the bobbin hole as illustrated and wind
the thread around the bobbin a few times by hand.
