    The battery should be at about 25°C (77°F) (room temperature), whenever possible, for charging. The acceptable charge temperature range is 0°C to 45°C. Motorola rapid-rate battery chargers contain a temperature-sensing circuit to ensure that batteries are charged within the temperature limits stated above.
