When to Check and Change Fluid
If you have an optional air-shift two-speed, controlled
traction, or locking differential type rear axle, a good time
to check the fluid level in the axle shift motor is when
the rear axle lubricant is checked.
How to Check Fluid
Remove the plug on the front plate of the axle shift
motor, add enough fluid to raise the level to the bottom
of the filler plug hole, then replace the plug.

Cab Tilting

Before You Tilt the Cab
Most fluids and lubricants requiring regular checking can
be accessed at the back of the cab. If you need to gain
access to components under the cab, follow this entire
procedure carefully.
Find a level place to tilt the cab.
Secure all loose articles in the cab and close the
cab door.
Check for adequate clearance in front and above
the cab.
To help prevent the vehicle from moving:
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Place the automatic transmission in PARK (P) or
shift the manual transmission to NEUTRAL.
3. Turn the engine off.
4. Block the front and rear wheels.
