Power Supply Failure

Problem Troubleshooting Procedure
You turn on the power If you are operating the notebook
switch and the following computer using the battery:

There is no panel
display

There is no noise
coming from the
HDD
•

The power
indicator light is off.

If you are operating the notebook
computer using the AC adapter:
•
Check that the AC adapter is connected
securely to the notebook computer's AC
adapter socket.

The system could be in suspend.
Press the Suspend/Resume
button.
The battery connection is loose.
Remove and reinstall the battery.
The battery power is depleted.
Plug in the AC adapter, or replace
the battery.
The battery needs to be reformed.
Reform the battery.
The system could be experiencing
a hang. Press the reset button
(Figure 1-3).
Check that the AC adapter is
plugged into an operational power
supply.
