• When mounting alarms on the ceiling locate it at least 300mm away from the side wall and 300mm away from any corner. (see diagram) • When mounting alarms on a wall, use the inside wall. The recommended position is between 300mm and 500mm off the ceiling.

Installation • Modern mobile homes have been designed and insulated to be energy efficient. Install smoke alarms as recommended (refer to RECOMMENDED LOCATIONS). • In older mobile homes that are not well insulated compared to present standards, extreme heat or cold can be transferred from the outside through poorly insulated walls and roof.

• Smoke alarms are not to be used with detector guards unless the combination (alarm and guard) has been evaluated and found suitable for that purpose. • Please note; The Lifesaver LIFPE10 smoke alarm is not suitable to be wall or vertically mounted.

Installation Mounting CAUTION: This unit is sealed. The cover is not removable! • Remove the mounting bracket from the smoke alarm. • The smoke alarm can be mounted in two ways. Using the double-sided tape provided or mounting using the provided screws and plugs.
Operation Testing The smoke alarm is operating once it is fitted onto the mounting bracket. Pressing the test button will sound the alarm. When the smoke alarm photoelectric sensor chamber senses products of combustion, the horn will sound a loud (85 db) alarm until the sensing chamber is cleared of smoke particles.

Operation Red LED- Hush mode indication: The red LED will flash once every 8 seconds, indicating the smoke alarm device is in the Hush or silence mode. Low battery indication An intermittent “chirp” with red LED flashes once every 40 seconds: indicates that the smoke alarm device is low battery, you may press the test button for pause alarm for 10 hours, but it will reset automatically after 10 hours.
Operation The smoke alarm hush mode will automatically reset after approximately 10 minutes. If after this period particles of combustion are still present, the alarm will sound again. The Hush mode can be used repeatedly until the air has been cleared. Smoke Alarm Removal To remove the alarm from the mounting bracket, rotate the alarm anti-clockwise.
Maintenance and Cleaning The battery is sealed inside the smoke alarm and is not replaceable. Please replace another new alarm if the low battery chirp occurs. IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to remove the cover to clean inside. This will void warranty. NOTE: Smoke alarm have a service life of 10 years under normal conditions.

Fire Safety • If the alarm is located outside the bedroom or on a different floor, it may not wake up a sound sleeper. • The use of alcohol or drugs may also impair one’s ability to hear the smoke alarm. For maximum protection, a smoke alarm should be installed in each sleeping area on every level of a home.
