ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE:
1.Electrical adjustments are required after replacing
circuit components and certain mechanical parts.
It is important to do these adjustments only after
all repairs and replacements have been com-
pleted. Also, do not attempt these adjustments
unless the proper equipment is available.
2.To perform these alignment / confirmation proce-
dures, make sure that the tracking control is set in
the center position: Press either [CHANNEL L] or
[CHANNEL K] button on the front panel first, then
the [PLAY] (VCR) button on the front panel.

1. Test Equipment Required

Alignment Tape (9965 000 14514)
2. To enter the service mode
Procedures:
1. To enter the service mode, press [CHANNEL K]
and [F.FWD] buttons on the unit simultaneously for
at least 2 seconds.
- The unit turns the power off and eject a tape
automatically.
- The display changes blue back and "1: SW P
AUTO" etc. appears.
2. To cancel the service mode, press [STOP] button
on the unit.
3. Head Switching Position
Adjustment
Purpose:
To determine the Head Switching position during
playback.
Symptom of Misadjustment:
May cause Head Switching noise or vertical jitter
in the picture.
Procedures:
1. Enter the service mode
2. Insert the Alignment Tape (9965 000 14514).
Auto adjustment starts.
3. After short time, "OK" appears on the display and
auto adjustment completes.
Press [STOP] to cancel the auto adjustment mode.
4. Eject the Alignment Tape (9965 000 14514).
4. To check/reset the initial function
setting
Procedures:
1. Enter the service mode.
2. To enter the initial function setting mode, press [0]
button on the remote control.
- The initial function setting value appears.
3. If the initial function setting value is not "06AB", set
it at "06AB" by using [K/L/{/B (up/down/left/
right)] buttons on the remote control.
4. To cancel this mode, press [STOP] button on the
unit.
