Entering a Phone Number and
Making a Call

From the standby screen, enter
phone number
The dial screen is displayed and the number is
entered.
When calling to fixed-line phones, enter the area
code first even if the recipient is in the same
city.
x : Move cursor position
, : Delete one number place
Hold down , for at least 1 second: Return to
the standby screen
o (Register): Register an entered number to
the phone book. (▶P. 89)

• You can also press k (Call) → [Call] to make a
call.
Operations during a call:
k (HF ON/HF OFF): Hands-free call ON/OFF
u (Menu): Display menu

o (Setting): Heard effect adjustment
Adjust how the other party sounds.
j (Mic OFF/Mic ON): Mute ON/OFF
l (Profile): Display profile
w: Adjust call volume (volume of other party's
voice)
m: Place call on hold

• You can also fold the product to end a call.
◎ With the Write now setting set to ON, a character
input screen is displayed right after entering a
phone number in the standby screen. (▶P. 78). m
→ m/k (Call) to make a call.
◎ Call charges for calls made with "1401" added are
subtracted from the registered balance on an au
prepaid card that you have bought.
◎ Note that even if you cover the microphone, the
sound can be conveyed to the other party.
◎ Even if "Airplane mode" is set, you can call
emergency numbers (110, 119, 118).
◎ To operate on the screen with the screen turned
off during a call, press any key other than . to
turn on the screen.
◎ If the confirmation screen for Record later appears
after a call, select "Yes (Right now) " → k to set
the Record later function.
