When the instrument is charging, the red LED on the
charger cradle will be lit and the instrument display
will also show the battery icon sweeping from
empty to full. When the instrument is fully charged,
the red LED will fade. When G-TECTA
charged and switched on the battery icon will show
three black bars.
Note: If the G-TECTA
®
on during charging, the instrument will take longer
to charge and the battery icon will take 20 seconds
to update on removal from the charging cradle.
Changing Rechargeable Batteries
If you experience a noticeable reduction in battery
life in the instrument, rechargeable batteries
should be replaced by a Linde Group Authorised
Service Centre.
Note: To ensure hazardous area and instrument
ingress protection certification is maintained,
battery replacement should only be carried out by
trained and certified personnel.
Non-rechargeable Batteries
G-TECTA
SG uses a Lithium Cell battery pack which
®
will give up to two years of operation. Users may
change batteries in non-rechargeable versions only.
WARNING
G-TECTA
battery. To maintain compliance with instrument
certification, ensure only the following battery
types are used: Panasonic, GP, Energiser, Maxell.
Changing Non-rechargeable Batteries
To replace the battery pack:
1.
Ensure you are in a safe,
non-hazardous area.
2.
Always switch the G-TECTA
opening the case to change the battery.
3.
Remove the back cover and remove the
battery pack.
4.
Replace the Lithium Cell in the battery pack.
5.
Reinsert the battery pack into the instrument
and replace and securely fasten the
back cover.

Wearing G-TECTA
G-TECTA
SG is supplied with a strong and durable
®
alligator clip. The alligator clip will securely attach
the instrument to a pocket, lapel, sleeve, belt etc.
G-TECTA
SG Chest/Neck Harness
®
The optional chest/neck harness allows the user to
mount the instrument on the chest or around the
neck for additional comfort.
Attaching the Chest Harness Plate
The chest harness plate is attached to the
instrument by replacing the alligator clip.
1.
Remove the M3 screw on the back of the
G-TECTA
SG.
®
2.
Remove the alligator clip.
3.
Position the chest harness plate and align the
screw holes.
4.
Attach the screw and tighten.
Neck strap
Attach the strap to the top connectors and
place around the neck. Adjust the length of
the strap until the instrument is in a comfortable
working position.
Chest Harness
Leave the neck strap in position. Attach the other
strap to the side connectors and link around the
chest. Adjust the strap lengths until the instrument
is in a comfortable working position.
