The pocket tester's selector knob should be set at "X 1 n " or " X 1 k.Q " ra nge referring to the

chart .

T he two testing p robes,
the chart.

The probe or pointer is to be placed on one of the term i na ls listed in the top horizontal row,
a n d the ( - ) p robe or poi n ter on the co rresponding terminal listed in the vert ica l col umn.
NOT E :

"CON" means a momentary continu ity. The ind icating hand should deflect once a n d then
swi n g back to the end of the scale ( infinity). Be sure to make a re-check of the terminals
of w h ich test resu lt should be "CON", after a bout 30 m inutes.
•
Whether or not the P E I unit is in good cond ition can be determined easi ly by tem porarily
r epla c i n g i t with a new one.
