The counter in the display window resets to “0:00:00.” Search for the point afterwards by referring to the counter. To display the counter on the TV screen, press DISPLAY.   • Page 23 Using the click shuttle ring With the click shuttle ring, you can operate a variety of playback options. During playback or pause, turn the click shuttle ring clockwise or anticlockwise. Each change in the click shuttle ring position changes the playback mode, and the corresponding mark appears on the TV screen for a few seconds in the following way if the on-screen display function is on.

    Synchronised recording You can set the unit to automatically record programmes from such equipment as a TV, satellite tuner, or cable TV decoder by connecting the equipment to the LINE-1 IN jacks and setting its timer. The connected equipment must have a timer function for this feature to work. When the connected equipment turns on, the unit also automatically turns on and starts recording a programme from LINE-1 IN.

In this case, the Synchronized recording also stops automatically. • When the connected equipment turns on while the SYNCHRO REC indicator is lit, recording starts automatically.

    Searching using the index function INDEX The unit marks the tape with an index SEARCH/AMS signal at the point where each recording begins. Use these signals as references to find a specific recording. The unit can search up to 99 index signals ahead or behind the current position.

    Enjoying the surround sound (Virtual Surround) VIRTUAL SURROUND knob You can use the Virtual Surround function to give stereo sources a surround sound effect and monaural sources a simulated stereo effect. To enjoy this feature, you must connect a stereo system or stereo TV to the LINE-1 OUT or LINE-2 OUT jacks.
