TEST RESULT
In the event of a fault, continue according
to Transceiver troubleshooting chart (Fig.

G . Transceiver Fault Isolation Chart
A typical fault isolation sequence is shown in the Transceiver Fault Isolation Chart of Fig. 118.
The chart details the various possible test and analysis stages up to the fault isolation proc-
dure of the defective assembly. In addition, a list is provided of the applicable schematic dia-
grams and functional descriptions.
In the fault isolation chart, it is assumed that the Transceiver is on the test bench. The anal-
ysis of the BITE results is the primary objective of the isolation procedure. In the event of a
BITE evaluation being impossible due to a major fault (Processor, Power Supply, ARINC bus
failure), options are to perform the manual test initiation with front panel LED display, or to
perform the full Transceiver Return-to-Service ATP (Ref. paragraph H).
The BITE system permits the display of faults that have occurred, also during previous flight
legs, on the basis of data stored in in the fault memory. These faults are stored together with
supplementary information in the memory and can be displayed with the aid of the various
BITE menus as described in paragraph D.
