The keep warm feature will switch the element on and off, just to keep it ticking over. It’ll do this for an hour, before switching off. The keep warm feature is vary gentle, and shouldn't overcook other then the most delicate of foods.

These deposits will impair the efficiency of the steamer, and may shorten its working life. To descale the steamer and element, fill the steamer with 600ml (1pt) white vinegar, plug it into the power socket, and set the timer to 20 minutes.

Fish is cooked when it appears opaque and can be flaked easily. Cook meat till the juices run clear.
