    Safety Instructions 2 Ex-Specifications The INNOVATION 2.0 is a smartphone suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (zones 1, 21, 2 and 22) in accordance with direc- tives 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) and 99/92/EC (ATEX 137), as well as the IECEx scheme.

    It is recommended that a phone which shows or which is suspected of faults and damages is returned i.safe MOBILE GmbH for inspection.

    The phone may be charged only at temperatures in between 0 C ... 45 C. The phone must not be exposed to abrasive acids or bases. The phone must not be taken into zones 0 or 20. Only accessories approved by i.safe MOBILE GmbH may be used.

  • Page 11 Introduction Dear customer, thank you very much for choosing the INNOVATION 2.0 smartphone. This quick start manual gives you access to the basic func- tions of the phone. With IP protection, rugged housing and a touchscreen, the INNOVATION 2.0 is the ultimate dual SIM ANDROID smartphone for zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 explosion hazardous areas.

    Quick Start 6 i.safe PROTECTOR The INNOVATION 2.0 contains specially designed safety circuits. Connecting the phone to non-ex-approved equipment like a computer can endanger the safety of the phone, as faults in the non-approved equipment could lead to a power surge into the phone large enough to destroy the safety circuits.

    7 Keys (1) Power: Lock the phone. Long press to power up or down the phone. (2) Menu: Bring up a list of options. (3) Home: Returns to the Home Screen. Long press to see a list of last accessed apps . (4) Back: Return to the previous screen.

    Quick Start 8 First Steps 8.1 Battery The battery is inserted into the back of the phone. The battery is not fully charged when the phone is purchased, but it contains enough en- ergy to power on the phone. To obtain best battery performance and battery life, let the battery discharge completely before charging it completely for the first three charging cycles.

    8.1.2 Charging the Battery Connect the i.safe PROTECTOR USB-cable with the phone as indicated in the picture below: Connect the plug with the socket of the Power Supply. After charging, remove the USB-cable from the charger. 8.1.3 Battery Use In actual use, the standby time and talk time of the phone varies with the network status, working environment and usage.

    Quick Start 8.2 Installation of the SIM Cards The phone features two SIM card slots. If you have installed two SIM <Settings > → < SIM man- cards, you can choose your primary card in agement>. Warning Do not try to insert or remove any of the SIM cards when any external power supply is connected, otherwise the SIM cards or the phone may be damaged.

    8.3 Installation of the Micro-SD Card Open the Micro-SD card holder, and insert the Micro-SD card into the slot, then close the Micro-SD card holder. 8.4 First Use 8.4.1 Powering On Your Phone [Power key] Press the until the screen lights up. Depending on the security settings of your SIM card, the phone may ask you for your personal identification number (PIN) before starting up.

    8.6 Using the Touchscreen This phone features a capacitive touchscreen. It is not necessary to press the screen for it to work, a simple touch is enough. The following gestures can be used with this phone: To open an application (app), or to enter a character using the on- screen keyboard, tap it with a finger.
