Controls and displays
AUTO SURR – Selects Auto Surround
(Auto playback on page 28).
S. RETRIEVER – Press to restore CD quality
sound to compressed audio sources (page 32).
ACOUSTIC EQ – Press to select an
Acoustic Calibration EQ setting (page 30).
SIGNAL SEL – Use to select an input signal
(page 33).
9 MULTI OPE
Press to perform multi operations (page 53).
10 SHIFT
Press to access the DVR controls (above the
component control buttons) as well as some
receiver controls.
11 INPUT SELECT
Use to select the input source (use SHIFT for
INPUT SELECT ).
12 SOURCE
Press to turn on/off other components
connected to the receiver (see page 50 for
more on this). Press after MULTI OPE to trigger
System Off (page 53).
13 Character display (LCD)
This display shows information when
transmitting control signals.
The following commands are shown when
you're setting the remote to control other
components (see Controlling the rest of your
system on page 50):
SETUP – Indicates the setup mode, from
which you choose the options below.
PRESET – See Selecting preset codes
directly on page 51.
LEARNING – See Programming signals
from other remote controls on page 51.
MULTI OP – See Multi Operation and
System Off on page 53.
SYS OFF – See Multi Operation and System
Off on page 53.
DIRECT F – See Direct function on page 53.
ERASE – See Programming signals from
other remote controls on page 51.
RESET – See Erasing all of the remote
control presets on page 53.
READ ID – See Confirming preset codes on
page 53.
14 RECEIVER
Switches the remote to control the receiver
(used to select the green commands above the
number buttons (DIMMER, etc). Also use this
button to set up surround sound (page 9,
page 36).
15 VOL +/–
Use to set the listening volume.
16 MUTE
Mutes the sound or restores the sound if it has
been muted (adjusting the volume also
restores the sound).
17 EFFECT/CH SEL
Press repeatedly to select a channel, then use
+/– to adjust the level (see Tip on page 44). Also
adjusts the level of the Advanced Surround
effects, Dolby Pro Logic IIx Music, and Neo:6
Music parameters (page 29). You can then use
the +/– buttons to make these adjustments.

Operating range of remote control

The remote control may not work properly if:
• There are obstacles between the remote
control and the receiver's remote sensor.
• Direct sunlight or fluorescent light is
shining onto the remote sensor.
• The receiver is located near a device that is
emitting infrared rays.
• The receiver is operated simultaneously
with another infrared remote control unit.
