NOTES
1.Longest lifeand best performance
can beobtained ifthebattery pack ischarged when t heair
temperature
isbetween 65°F and 75°F (18 °°24°C). DONOT c harge t hebattery pack inanair
temperature
below 40°F (4.5°C), orabove 1 05°F ( 40.5°C). This isimportant and wilt p revent
serious damage tothebattery pack.
2.The charger and battery pack m ay become warm totouch while charging. This isanormal
condition, and does n ot i ndicate aproblem. Tofacilitate the cooling ofthe battery pack a fter u se,
avoid p lacing thecharger orbattery pack ina warm environment
such asina metal shed, oran
uninsulated
trailer.
3,Ifthe battery pack d oes not c harge properly:
a.Check current atreceptacle
byplugging inalamp orother appliance
b.Check tosee ifreceptacle
isconnected
toalight s witch w hich t urns power off
when y ou turn out t helights.
c.Move c harger and battery pack t oalocation where t hesurrounding
air
temperature
isapproximately
65°F -75°F (18 °°24°C).
d.Ifcharging problems persist, take thetool, b attery pack a nd charger toalocal
service center.
4.The battery pack should b erecharged
when itfails toproduce sufficient power onjobs which w ere
easily d one previously.
DONOT CONTINUE
touse under these c onditions.
Follow t he charging
procedure.
You may also charge a partially used pack w henever
youdesire w ith noadverse affect
onthebattery pack.
5.Foreign materials
ofaconductive
nature such as, b ut n ot l imited to, s teel wool, aluminum
foil, o rany
buildup ofmetallic particles should bekept away f rom charger cavities. Always unplug the charger from
thepower supply when t here i snobattery pack i nthe cavity. Unplug charger before attempting
toclean.
6.Donot f reeze o rimmerse charger inwater orany other l iquid.

Never attempt
to open
the battery pack for any reason,
If the plastic
housing
of the battery pack breaks or cracks,
return to a
service center or coflection
site for recycfing,
INSTALLING
AND REMOVING
THE BATTERY PACK FROM THE POWER UNiT
WARNING:
Make certain the lock=off button is engaged to prevent switch actuation before
removing or installing battery.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK: Insert battery pack into the Power Unit until an audible click is heard
(Figure B), Make sure battery pack is fully seated and fully latched into position.
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK: Depress the battery release button (7) as shown in Figure C and pull
battery pack out of the Power Unit.
