1.1 Important information

ATTENTION!
During start-up, observe the respective national safety regulations and
the applicable VDE safety regulations, particularly VDE0100 as well as the
technical connection requirements of the utility companies (EVU) and
network operators!
ATTENTION!
The passive cooling station should only be operated in dry rooms with
temperatures ranging between 0 °C and 35 °C. Ensure that no
condensation forms on the device.
ATTENTION!
All sensor connecting leads with a conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm²
can be extended to a maximum of 40 m. Sensor leads should not be
installed next to power cables.

Scope of supply

The passive cooling station is designed for operation with brine-
to-water heat pumps with borehole heat exchangers. It consists
of a compact casing, inside of which the heat exchanger, the
brine circulating pump and two extension modules for control
during cooling operation are mounted. These extension modules
supplement the existing heat pump manager with the "passive
cooling" mode of operation. The heat pump manager is able to
control a combined system for heating and passive cooling
thanks to the extension modules.

Accessories

The following accessories are available for regulating passive
cooling:
Room climate control system for temperature and humidity
measurement, essential accessory for silent cooling
Heating/cooling ON/OFF room temperature controller that is
switchable between "Heating" and "Cooling" using an exter-
nal change-over contact
Extended dew point monitoring for interrupting the cooling
operation if condesation forms at vulnerable points in the
cooling distribution system.

ATTENTION!
To ensure that the frost protection function of the heat pump works
properly, the heat pump controller and the extention modules must
remain connected to the power supply.
ATTENTION!
The switching contacts of the output relay are interference-suppressed.
Therefore, depending on the internal resistance of the measuring
instrument, a voltage can also be measured when the contacts are open.
However, this will be much lower than the line voltage.
ATTENTION!
Terminals J1 to J4, J9 and J10 of the extension modules, as well as
terminal strip X3 are connected to an extra-low voltage supply. If, due to
a wiring error, the line voltage is mistakenly connected to these terminals,
the extension module will be destroyed.
The scope of supply includes:
Passive cooling station incl. 2 extension modules for the
heat pump manager
2 sensors for detecting the flow and return temperatures in
the cooling system
Installation and Operating Instructions
1 sensor for detecting the common flow temperature in the
primary circuit (only in connection with an active cooling sys-
tem)
