    Getting Started Cards There are three slots for inserting SAM, micro SD, and micro SIM cards in the back of your device. • A SAM card is required for security transactions that are made through your device. It validates the credit cards and a device. It also includes the company information. • A micro SD card is required for external storage.

    Micro SD card Align a micro SD card with the slot. Make sure that the gold contacts on the card are facing down. Slide the card into the slot. It clicks when it is properly inserted. Micro SIM card Align a micro SIM card with the slot. Make sure that the gold contacts on the card are facing down.

    Battery BM180 uses a 3,000 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Install the provided battery before starting to charge the device. Installing the Battery Turn the battery lock counterclockwise to unlock the battery cover. Use the notch and lift the battery cover. Remove the cover completely.

    Replace the cover. Insert the bottom of the cover first and then press around the edge of the cover until it clicks into place. Turn the battery lock clockwise to lock the battery cover. Removing the Battery Remove the battery cover as described in Installing the Battery on page Use the notches at the top of the battery to pull out.

    Charging the Battery Charge the device first when using the device for the first time or have not used it for a long time. The device can be charged with a charger or a cradle. You can also charge the battery by connecting it to your computer with the provided micro USB cable.

    Extending the Battery Life Find the balance between getting the most out of your device while getting the battery life you need. The easiest way is to use battery saver mode. When the device goes into battery saver mode, you may not be able to use some features that use battery in the background or may not able to change the settings of all applications There are some other ways to improve battery life power on your device.

    Basic Turning the Device on and off To turn on the device, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. To turn off the device, press and hold the Power button, drag down the “slide down to power off” message. NOTE To turn on or off the screen, press the Power button shortly.

    Resetting the Device If your device does not work properly or get stuck due to unknown errors, you can force the device to restart. Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons at the same time until the device vibrates.

    Tapping and Holding Place and leave your finger on an item or the screen for a few seconds to access more detailed menus or options. Dragging Place your finger on the item or the screen for a few seconds and move the finger around the screen to move the item or move through screens.

    Locking and Unlocking the Device Use the lock screen to protect your device and its data. The device gets locked if it is not in use for a specified period by default. To unlock the device, press the Power button to turn on the screen and flick up on the lock screen. To lock the device, press the Power button to protect your device and its data.

    Icons The status bar appears at the top of the screen. It displays the status and notification icons providing you with the current time, battery status, network connectivity, signal strength, and much more. NOTE When the icons on the status bar are hidden, tap the status bar on the screen to make the icons appear temporarily.

    Customizing Your Start Screen You can personalize the Start screen by rearranging and resizing the tiles, and changing the background. Adding Tiles The tiles allow you to launch an application or activate a feature quickly, and see updates on their tiles at a glance without opening them. Tap and hold any of the following items, and tap pin to start.

    App Menu Swipe over from the Start screen, all applications and programs on your device, including the ones that are installed in the system and the ones that you downloaded, are displayed, in alphabetical order, in the App menu. To search an application, swipe up or down in the App menu. You can also tap a letter to jump to a section of the alphabet or tap the Search button and type letters of an application to directly find the specific application.

    Setting Date and Time The date and time are automatically set based on the networks you are connected to. To set the date and time manually Go to Settings > date+time and switch Set automatically to Off. If you turn off the option, the options for setting date and time will be activated.

    Barcode Scanner BM180 includes the 2D barcode scanner. To use the barcode scanning function, Unlock the screen, open a barcode scanning application. Press the Barcode scanning button(s) on the sides of your device. The red LED light will come up on the barcode scanner on the top of your device.

    Card Payment To read cards, use Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR). NOTE A SAM card is required to use this feature.
