 Place guide bar on the driver pin.
 Place saw chain on the chain wheel.
 Reattach the cover.
 Adjust the saw chain tension on the ad-
justing wheel.

Filling in the saw chain oil

ATTENTION
Risk of damage of the saw chain and guide
bar! It is obligatory to use saw chain oil for
the operation of the chain saw.
Upon delivery, no saw chain lubricant is
filled in!
 Clear the area around the filling hole
from sawdust and dirt.
 Remove oil cap.
 Do not remove the oil filter inlay.
 Slowly fill in the saw chain lubricant.
 Regularly check the oil level at the sight
glass during filling.
 Clean possibly spilled oil with a cloth.
 Close oil cap.

Checking the saw chain tension

The saw chain stretches with increasing
operational time.
DANGER
Mortal danger on account of ruptured saw
chain. Always check the saw chain tension
prior to starting work.
The saw chain must slightly sag when at a
standstill.
 Correct distance to the guide bar: 1.3 mm
If necessary, correct the saw chain tension:
 Adjust the saw chain tension on the ad-
justing wheel.
 Check the saw chain tension during the
adjustment.
 Always adjust the saw chain tension
correctly.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage of the saw chain and guide
bar due to increased wear! Do not tension
the saw chain too much.
NOTICE
If the saw chain can no longer be readjust-
ed via the adjusting wheel, the guide bar
must be readjusted or the saw chain must
be replaced (see Chapter "Care and main-
tenance).
