1. INTRODUCTION

The R1 radio is designed specifically to exceed the IMO requirements for GMDSS
survival craft radios.
The radio is totally waterproof and sufficiently robust to survive marine environments,
and is designed to be a 'fit and forget' equipment.

1.1. Scope

This manual provides the complete instructions issued to shore-based maintenance
(SBM) providers to enable routine and emergency servicing of the radio equipment
listed below.

1.2. Applicability

This information applies to the following radio equipments:
i McMurdo R1 VHF Radio (English, French & German labelling)
i Sea 103 VHF Radio
