Hysteresis: Behavior of heating and cooling

∂ The control sequences heating and cooling depend on the heating and cooling
setpoints and the room temperature
∂ The thermostat remains in the heating sequence as long as the room
temperature does not reach the cooling setpoint
∂ The thermostat remains in the cooling sequence as long as the room
temperature does not reach the heating setpoint
The value of the output and the sequence as a function of the room temperature is
shown in the following diagram in the case of a heating and cooling system:
