Maintenance
armature to be reset , t he t ripping act uator should be replaced
(if breaker mechanism is not at fault).
Note: Do not attempt to disassemble t he tripping actuator as
t his may destroy t he magnetic field set up by t he permanent
magnet and will render t he actuator lat ch inoperative until
magnetized.
When replacing a t ripping actuat or, t he coil leads must be
connected to the terminal block of t he trip device in t he
correct polarit y relationship.

For Static Trip
Devices
The black lead of t he coil must be connected to terminal 6
( negat ive), and t he red lead of coil connected to terminal 7
( positive) blue lead to terminalS, of the stat ic t rip device.
When t he t rippi ng act uator has been replaced, t he circuit
breaker should be tested to ensure proper operat ion of all
component s. Refer to ' St atic Tri p I l l Informat ion and Instruc
tion G uide', SG-31 18, and 'Portable Test Set Instruct ions',
SG-31 38 for t he information on t est ing t he static t ripping
system on a circuit breaker.
