this reason, never look into the end of an optical fiber cable or open

Attention:
When you handle static-sensitive devices, take precautions to avoid
damage from static electricity. For details about handling static-sensitive devices,
see "Handling static-sensitive devices" on page 19.
To install an SFP module, complete the following steps:
1. Remove the SFP module from its static-protective package.
2. Remove the protective cap from the SFP module, as shown in Figure 20. Save
the protective cap for future use.

3. Remove the protective cap from the SFP port. Save the protective cap for future
use.
4. Insert the SFP module into the host port until it clicks into place. See Figure 21
on page 30.
