Inserting a Memory Card

Close the battery-chamber cover.

Cautions
• The memory card may spring out if you remove
your finger immediately after pushing the card in .
• Memory cards may be warm to the touch after
being removed from the camera. This is normal
and does not indicate a malfunction.

Caution
Be sure card is in correct orientation; do not
insert at an angle or use force. If the memory
card is not inserted correctly,
InJ
will appear
in the monitor and images will be recorded to
internal memory.

~:. Removing Memory Cards
!i After confirming that the camera
is of( press the card in and then
release it slowly. The card can
now be removed by hand.
The camera stores pictures in internal memory
or on Secure Digital (SD) memory cards (sold
separately; see pages
8-10
of the Owne(s
Manual). If a memory card is inserted in the
camera as described below, the card will be
used for recording and playback. If no memory
card is inserted in the camera,

appears in
the monitor and internal memory is used for
recording and playback. When internal memory
becomes full, pictures can be transferred to a
computer for long-term storage (Owne(s Manual,
pg. 59) and the copies in internal memory
deleted to make room for more pictures (pg. 16).

Turn the camera off, and open the
battery-chamber cover.

Insert the memory card firmly until you
hear (feel) a click.
Holding the memory
card in the orientation
shown below, slide it
all the way in. Press
firmly until it clicks
into place.
