Warning Messages and Displays

The following warnings are displayed in the monitor:

O (red)
The battery is low.
N (blinks red)
The battery is exhausted.
0
Slow shutter speed. Picture may be blurred.
R
(displayed in red
The camera can not focus.

The subject is too bright or too dark. The

FOCUS ERROR
Camera malfunction.

Insert a fresh or fully-charged spare battery.
Use the flash or mount the camera on a tripod.
• Use focus lock to focus on another subject at the
same distance, then recompose the picture (pg. 32).
• If the subject is poorly lit, try focusing at a distance of
about 2 m (6.6 ft.).
• Use macro mode to focus when taking close-ups.
If the subject is dark, use the flash.
Turn the camera off and then on again, taking care not
to touch the lens. If the message persists, contact a
FUJIFILM dealer.
Insert a memory card.
Format the memory card or internal memory using
the m FORMAT option in the camera setup menu
(pg. 97).
Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the
message is repeated, format the memory card (pg. 97).
If the message persists, replace the memory card.
Contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
Unlock the memory card (pg. 8).
Use the camera to format the memory card (pg. 97).
