Switching the Mode (Photography Mode <--> Play Mode)
There are two methods of switching between photograpy mode and play mode.
Using the Mode Key
Whenever the mode key is touched, photography mode and play
mode switches.
Using Touch Sensor / Auto Mode Switch Function
This camera is equipped with a touch sensor/auto mode switch function.
Here we describe the touch sensor function and auto mode switch function.
• When you touch the shutter button ... (Touch sensor
function)
When you touch the shutter button to take a photo during the play mode, the
mode automatically switches to the photography mode. This is called the "Touch
sensor function". The shutter button senses that a human finger has touched it.
The initial setting is set to OFF.

• When using the touch sensor function, touch the

shutter button with your hand. The function may not
operate properly if you wear gloves on apply an
adhesive plaster to you finger.
• For some people and under certain weather conditions
the touch sensor function may not work well.
• When you take a photo ... (Auto mode switch function)
When a preset time elapses after you take a photo and release your finger from
the shutter button, the mode switches to the play mode. This is called the auto
mode switch function. The time after which the mode switches can be set to
anywhere between 2 and 30 seconds. The initial setting is set to OFF.

Set the "Touch sensor function" and "Auto mode switch" function according to your
preference.
Important
• If you leave the camera for a period of time with the power turned off, the
setting of the touch sensor function and Auto Play mode function may return
to (OFF). In this case, set again.
