The following are not covered under warranty:
• LCD panel cracked from the application of excessive force or from being dropped
• Scratched (cosmetic) parts

Power system checkout

To verify if a battery and a Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter are functional, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Connect the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter.
3. Turn on the computer. If the computer can be turned on, it means that either the battery or the Lenovo
USB-C 45W AC Adapter is functional.
4. Turn off the computer.
5. Disconnect the ac adapter and turn on the computer. If the computer can be turned on, it means the
battery is functional.

Checking the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter

This computer supports only the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter. When the adapter is connected to the
computer, the output voltage at the adapter plug rises from 0 V (when not connected) to 5 V. Then the
power delivery communication starts. The Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter outputs 20 V according to
the computer output voltage request.

Note: Noise from the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter does not always indicate a defect.
To check the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter when the computer does not charge, do the following:
1. Disconnect the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter from the computer.
2. Connect a new Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter to the computer. For information about which Lenovo

3. If the computer charges, replace the Lenovo USB-C 45W AC Adapter.

Checking the battery
This system supports only batteries specially designed for this specific system and manufactured by Lenovo
or an authorized builder. The system does not support unauthorized batteries or batteries designed for other
systems. If an unauthorized battery or a battery designed for another systems is installed, the system will
not charge.
