he remote control that is supplied with your television
may also work with a variety of infrared controlled
accessory devices such as VCRs, Cable Boxes, DVD
Players, Satellite Receivers, etc. The following instruc-
tions explain how to change the remote mode for the
type of accessory device you are using. If you are using
Philips accessory devices, such as a VCR, DVD Player,
Satellite, and/or Amplifier, we have pre-programmed the
remote control for you. For additional equiptment, you
can program additional accessories using the ACC(esso-
ry) mode, see next page for details.
To select one of the pre-programmed devices:

Press and release the SELECT button on the
remote control. The last used mode before TV-
MODE will light up for 2 seconds. After 2 sec-
onds, the LED for that MODE will begin to flash.
2 Press and release the SELECT button on the
remote control within 2 seconds to move to the
next MODE. The new MODE's LED will light
for 2 seconds, then begin to flash.

Repeat the steps above to continue through the
MODEs until the desired MODE is selected.
To select an accessory that has been programmed into
the Universal (ACC) mode follow the steps below:

Press the SELECT button until the ACC device
LED light is ON, it will only stay active (lit) for
two seconds.
5 Within two seconds of selecting the ACC mode,
press and hold the SELECT button.

While holding the SELECT button down, press
and release the NUMBER button that corre-
sponds to the type of accessory device you want
to operate.
Digit 2 = Cable
Digit 3 = VCR
Digit 4 = DVD
Digit 5 = SAT

Release the SELECT button.
(Example: You have a VCR from Adventura and want to
program the remote. It's code is 2001. Press and hold
the SELECT button, then press and release the number 3
button. Now release the SELECT button. Now you're
ready to use the remote to control the VCR.)
Note: Make sure you complete this step within two sec-
onds of selecting the ACC mode.

ELPFUL
It is recommended that you use Philips brand external
accessory devices with your Philips television to insure
proper remote control functions. If you are using
Philips brand accessory devices, your remote control
should be ready to use with these devices.
