    For example, a user who has a high traffic store during the weekday may want to set the DVR4C’s Weekday Day tab for Superior quality with 15 IPS. In addition, if the user does not have much traffic or the store is closed on weekday nights, the user may set the Weekday Night tab to Medium quality with 7.5 IPS.

    2.1.1 Configuring Recording via the DVR4C To configure the DVR4C for motion detection or continuous recording, do the following: Press the MENU button on the front panel of the DVR4C unit. Press the right arrow button to select Recording, then press the Enter button. The OSD (on-screen display) displays the Weekday Day, Weekday Night, Weekend Day, Weekend Night options (see Table 2.1).

    2.2.2 Configuring Exception Days To configure the DVR4C for exception days, do the following (see example below): Press the MENU button on the front panel of the DVR4C unit. Press the right arrow button to select Profiles, then press the Enter button. Use the down arrow to scroll to Exception Days.

    Configuring the Area of Motion To configure the area of motion, do the following: Press the MENU button on the front panel of the DVR4C unit. Press the right arrow button to select Event Setup, then press the down arrow button to select the respective camera number (1-4) to set the parameters for recording (see Table 2.11).

The user can configure each of the four tabs (Weekday Day, Weekday Night, Weekend Day, or Weekend Night) for monitoring only, recording only, or monitoring and recording. Each audio channel relates to its respective camera.

    Table 3.1 Configuring for Audio Playing Recorded Video The DVR4C enables the user to play recorded video and archive clips to a USB memory device in two formats: DV4 and AVI. The DV4 is a Bosch proprietary format that can only be viewed with the Archive Player.

    Insert a USB device into the front panel of the DVR4C unit. Press the respective camera (1-4) on the front panel to archive video. Press the COPY button on the front panel of the DVR4C. The OSD displays the Copy screen (see Table 4.2).

    The Configuration Tool requires administrator rights to log on to a DVR. The password is set in the Connectivity menu of the DVR4C. If a DVR's configuration menu is activated or remote setup is configured as Disable, login is blocked.
  • Page 28 | Configuring the DVR4C Remotely DVR4C Select a DVR from the list of DVRs on the left-hand side. Type a User Name, Password, and Port Number. The user name can be up to 30 characters. The default values of User name/Password are admin/admin. Note: only the ADMIN user can log on using the Configuration Tool.

Select a DVR, type the password, and click Login. The Configuration Tool displays the Information tab.

    Select the time of the day to begin and end your day (Figure 6.3 Reference B). Everything else is considered night time. For example, if the user’s work week starts at 7 AM and ends at 6 PM, the DVR4C automatically considers 6:01 PM- 6:59 AM as night time. When finished, click Apply.

Playing Recorded Video Remotely The DVR4C Playback Viewer enables the user to play recorded video in two formats: DV4 and AVI. Indicate the appropriate information including the to and from dates, time frame, format, channel, file split size, and file name (Figure 7.8 Reference A-B).
