Front panel display
When an operation is performed on the main unit or on the remote
control unit, that operation appears on the display, making it possible
to check the operation visually.
The set's operating status can also be checked on the display using the
procedure described below.

The input and output sources and the surround setting, etc.,
appear in order on the display each time the button is pressed.

The brightness changes in the following order each time the but-
ton is pressed:
bright
medium
dim

Recording using the REC OUT selector
Use the following procedure to record a source other than the one cur-
rently playing.

Press the REC SELECT button and set the recording output to
the source to be recorded.

"SOURCE".

Set the cassette deck, video deck or other recording device to
the recording mode.

Tape monitor function
When a three—head tape deck is used, the sound actually being re
corded can be monitored during recording by pressing the
DAT/TAPE MONITOR button.
Press the button again to cancel monitoring.
NOTES:
. Only the currently playing source can be recorded on the tape deck.
. Digital input signals cannot be recorded. To record, connect to the
analog input terminals.
. It is not possible to record between the video jack and the S—video
jack.
. If the input function is set to PHONO, CD or TUNER when
"TV/DBS" is selected with the REC OUT selector, the picture
signals selected with the "TV/DBS" setting are output from the
MONITOR OUT terminal.
Using the dimmer function
Use this function to adjust the brightness of the main unit's display.
Press the PANEL button.
