Automatic Voltage Regulator
(AVR) Cooling Fans
The system is equipped with two fans to cool the AVR
electronics. The primary fan is powered by AC during
operation. The secondary fan is powered by 12 VDC
through the controller. The fans are monitored during
operation and if a failure occurs, an alarm is displayed.
The secondary fan continues to operate for up to one
hour after the generator is shut down. Proper cooling
must occur before removing either battery connections or
7.5 amp fuse for maintenance or other service activity.
WARNING
Moving Parts. Avoid AVR fan housing for one
hour after generator shutdown. Fan operates
even if fuse is removed. Rotating fan blades
could result in death or serious injury.
NOTE: The AVR cooling air inlet includes a filter. Verify
the filter is installed and properly seated at time the unit is
installed. Check the filter at regular maintenance intervals
to verify proper airflow. See the Maintenance section of
the Owner's Manual for details.

NOTE: In areas where temperatures fall below 32 °F (0
°C), it is recommended that a pad type battery heater be
installed to aid in cold climate starting. This is available
as a cold weather kit through an authorized service
dealer.

Explosion. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
Batteries are explosive. Electrolyte solution can cause
burns and blindness. If electrolyte contacts skin or eyes,
flush with water and seek immediate medical attention.
Environmental Hazard. Always recycle batteries at an
official recycling center in accordance with all local
laws and regulations. Failure to do so could result in
environmental damage, death or serious injury.
