Preparing for use

Tun3on the projection TV.

Set S-VIDEO to "ON" (p. 48).

PressTVNIDEO on the projectionTV or on the Remote
Commandersothat =VIDEO 1"appearson the screen.
To return to TV mode
PressTV/VIDEO or CHANNEL +/- on the projection TV,
or pres_ W/VIDEO, CH +/- or 0 - 9 and ENTER on the
Remote Commanderso that a ohannel numberappears
on the screen.
Note
You can watch both a TV and a VCR image at once, using
Picture-in-Picture (pp, 40 - 43).
Operating the equipment
To operate the video equipment,
refer to the instruction
manual that comes with the equipmen'E.
You can operate a Sony VCR or video disc player, or
a non-Sony VCR with the supplied Remote Commancler.
For details, see "Using the Pre-Programmed
Remote
Commander"
(pp. 66-
72).
About S video input
Video input and output signals can be separated intoY
(luminanceor brightness)and C (chronna or color)signals.
Usuallythese two signalsare combinedin a VCR and sent
as one signal to a projection IV. Separationof the Y and C
signalspreventsthem from interfering with one another,
thereby improvingpicture(especiallycolor)quality.
This projection"IV is equippedwith S videoinputjacks
throughwhichthese separated signals; c an be inputdlirectly.
