SYMPTOM
CAUSE
Engine fails to
Low voltage on
fire

Bad glow plug(s)
Insufficient priming
"Flooded" due to
excessive priming
Engine fires but
Over primed
does not run
Incorrect glow
plugs
Engine starts but
Mixture too rich
slows down and
then stops
Engine starts,
Mixture too lean
speeds up, and
then quits
Engine quits
Mixture too rich
when starter
battery is
removed
Incorrect glow plugs
Incorrect or bad fuel
Rough idle
Plug
In the event that none of the above procedures results in the engine running

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace/recharge the
starting battery
Inspect/replace bad glow plug(s)
Repeat priming procedure
Disconnect battery, remove
glow plugs, and rotate propeller
several times to"clear" cylinder
Disconnect battery and rotate
propeller several times to
"clear" cylinder
Remove plugs and verify
proper heat range
Close high speed needle valve(s)
1/2 turn and start again. Repeat
until engine is running smoothly.
Open high speed needle valve(s)
1/2 turn and start again. Repeat
until engine is running smoothly.
Close high speed needle valve(s)
1/2 turn and restart
Change glow plugs
Change fuel
Change plug type
