Der Signalpegel ist aber zu schwach und der Empfang ist schlecht, da diese EON-Verbindungsstation zu weit außerhalb lag. Deshalb schaltet das Radio dann auf den zuvor eingestellten Sender zurück. Bei der oben beschriebenen Betriebsart hört der Anwender für eine kurze Zeitspanne ein falsches Programm oder überhaupt nichts.

Das Gerät sucht innerhalb des aktuellen Frequenzbandes z. B. FM 1 nach den größten Signalstärkepegel bis der Suchzyklus abgeschlossen wird.
