1. [MIC] Microphone jack
Insert the microphone-connector in this jack.
2. [VOLUME OFF-MAX.] On/Off Volume-Control
In ''off'' position your transceiver is off. Turn this control clockwise to switch on the unit. Turn the knob
clockwise a little more to set the audio level, until you get a comfortable reception.
3. [SQ – RF-Gain] Doublefeature
[SQ] Squelch Control
For maximum receiver sensivity the control must be regulated exactly where the receiver background
noise disappears.
[RF-GAIN] (Radio Frequency) Gain Control
This function controls the reception sensitivity. To increase sensitivity simply turn it clockwise. Sensitivity
decreases turning it counterclockwise. Low sensitivity is useful when very strong signals are present
in the band.
4. Multifunction backlighted display .
It shows:
a. channel selected number( from 1 up 40)
b. the received signal strength and the power of the
transmitting signal
c. Dual Watch
d. RX/TX: TX =transmit mode;
RX =receive mode
e. SCAN mode

5. [Channel] Rotary channel selector
By turning the knob clockwise you skip to the next channel. By turning it counterclockwise you will
reach the last channel.
6. [EMG] Emergency channel button
By pressing it you will be automatically positioned on CH 9 (emergency channel). The display will
show "EMG". It will not be possible to accidentally change the channel.
7. [SCAN] button
With this control, you can automatically seek for a busy channel.
Turn the Squelch clockwise until the background noise is no longer heard.
Press the ''SCAN'' button: the transceiver will scan automatically all the channels until a carrier is
received.
8. [DW] Dual-Watch Switch
Allows the synchronisation on two different channels at the same time.
Pushing this button (for the first time) will make the current channel to „watch channel". Pushing the
button again will enable the DW. Disable by pushing this button for the third time.
9. [Mic] (Microphone) Gain Control
In TX mode, it controls the microphone amplification.
To get the best results, use the microphone and set the optimum position considering the distance
from your mouth and the amplification level, asking to your partner when the modulation comes out
best.
10. [DIM]
Switch for the adjustment of the display lighting during operation. You have the choice between full
lighting or reduced lighting.
11. [ESP] ESP 2-Noisekiller
The ESP 2 is fulfilling two functions at the same time.
In the first function the ESP 2 reduces the annoying noise and cracking with the receipt of very weak
signals. The second function begins if a stronger signal is received. Here the ESP 2 switches on
automatically an active bandpass filter which suppresses a still existing noise and cracking. Thus
the voice/modulation will be emphasised clearly from the background noises.
