Taking Pictures of People (Portrait Mode)

In I (Portrait mode), Face Recognition AF and Face Recognition AE
are activated. Simply point the camera toward your subject's face and
the camera automatically recognizes the location of the subject's face,
adjusts the focus (using Face Recognition AF) and the exposure (using
Face Recognition AE) and allows you to take a picture.

Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode.
The Capture Mode Palette appears.

Use the four-way controller (2345) to select I
(Portrait).

Press the 4 button.
The shooting mode is selected and the
camera returns to capture status.
When the location of the subject's face is
recognized, a yellow focus frame appears
on the LCD monitor at the location of the
face. As the subject moves, the size and
location of the focus frame change to match the location of the
subject's face.

Press the shutter release button halfway.
The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in
focus.

Press the shutter release button fully.
The picture is taken.
