CARE AND CLEANING

Cleaning
Before cleaning your Kettle, unplug it from the mains supply and allow it to cool
down completely.
Clean the outer surface with a soft damp cloth only. Remove stubborn spots using a
cloth moistened with mild detergent. To keep this Kettle in good condition NEVER use
steel wool, chemical, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the Kettle.
When not in use or in storage, the power cable may be wound under the bottom
of the Kettle.
Do not use detergents or cleaning agents inside the Kettle (see below section
'Removing mineral deposits').
Cleaning the filter
The filter is located just behind the spout.
Before removing or assembling the filter, switch the Kettle off and empty it.
Allow it to cool completely then unplug the power base from the mains power supply.
Filter removal and reassembly
1.
Ensure the kettle is cold. Open the lid and lift the filter out using the flap at the top
of the filter. You will hear an audible click when you lift the filter upwards.
2.
Remove the filter out of the kettle.
3.
Rinse the filter in warm water and gently remove any scale with a soft brush.
4.
To reassemble, place the filter back into the filter holder ensuring the filter is facing
the correct way. The flap on the filter should face towards the lid of the kettle.
Push the filter into position until you hear an audible click.
Removing mineral deposits
In order to maintain efficient performance, it is important to remove built-up mineral
deposits from tap water which may form a scale at the bottom of the Kettle.
Your Kettle should be descaled every 6-8 weeks. More frequent cleaning will be
required depending on the quality of the water where you live and how often the kettle
is used. You can use a descaling solution available from most leading retail outlets by
following the instructions on the package.
Alternatively, follow the below procedure:
1.
Half fill the kettle with water and add 1 cup of white vinegar. Do not fill above
the max level.
2.
Boil the kettle and allow to stand for 15 minutes before discarding water.
3.
Add clean water to the kettle and re-boil and discard, repeat this several times
to remove any residue.
NOTE: For extreme build up leave the mixture in the Kettle overnight.
