3. Open lid (160) and lift it, see par. 6.1.
Remove strainer basket (143), clean and replace it.
Put lid (160) back in place and tighten the knobs evenly, see par. 6.1
and 6.3.
4. Open shutoff valves.
5. Restart pump.
7.2
CAUTION
If the pump is shut off by the motor protection switch, turn off the electricity sup-
ply and check whether the pump can easily be rotated. To do this, rotate the
motor shaft on the fan side using a screwdriver or the like. If the motor shaft is
sluggish, the pump must be examined by an engineer. If it moves easily, remo-
ve the screwdriver or the like and switch the power supply back on. After the
motor has cooled down, press the motor protection switch again, but only do so
once. Please check the power intake! After turning the motor protection switch
back on, the cause of the fault should be identified by an engineer, e.g. blocka-
ge of the pump by contaminants or sand when cleaning the floor. Check the
power supply and fuses.
7.3
CAUTION
If the pump seizes, it has to be cleaned. Repeated starting of a blocked pump
may cause damage to the motor. In that case any guarantee is voided!
7.4
CAUTION
The leakage pipe on the underside between pump housing and motor must
never be clogged or sealed; otherwise the water in it will rise and the motor will
be damaged! Please make sure that leakage cannot cause consequential da-
mages! If necessary provide a suitable drip pan.
7.5
CAUTION
Important hints for repair work
Dismantling:
Replacement of the mechanical seal:
Switch off the pump and disconnect it from the power supply. The exchange of
the mechanical seal has to be done by an expert. The mechanical seal
always has to be replaced completely (433). The motor unit simply has to be
removed by loosening the 4 hexagon nuts (920.1) on the top of the casing
(161).
