Put on the lid (160) and make sure that the o-ring seal (412.1) is well in the
housing groove. Tighten the 4 knobs (915) evenly. Otherwise the pump will
prime insufficiently or not at all. Never let the pump run dry, not even for the
purpose of checking the direction of rotation!
6.2
CAUTION
Only switch the pump on when the discharge-side shut-off valve is half open!
Slowly adjust this to the operating point once full speed has been reached.
Never do this with the suction valve. The suction valve must be fully open. Al-
ways ensure that the pump is not operating against closed shut-off valves.
6.3
CAUTION
Make sure pump and motor turn freely, especially after extended periods of
downtime. To do this put a screwdriver into the slot at the fan end and turn it by
hand in the direction of rotation. If necessary remove the fan cover and turn the
fan by hand. After re-staring make sure the mechanical seal doesn't leak.
6.4
CAUTION
Never operate the pump without the strainer basket (143), otherwise the pump
may get clogged and blocked.
6.5
CAUTION
When starting a pump with three-phase current motor for the first time, make
sure the motor turns in the direction of the affixed arrow (anticlockwise, seen
from the fan). If the motor rotates in the wrong direction, two phases must be
switched (by a licensed electrician only!). If the direction of rotation is wrong,
the pump is noisier and primes less.
7.
Maintenance / Repair
CAUTION
The strainer basket (143) must be periodically emptied. A full or dirty strainer
will impair the pump's flow rate and the filtration.
7.1 Cleaning the strainer
1. Shut down pump.
2. Close shutoff valves.
