22. Maximum connection cable lengths
1. Maximum connection-cable length for the all-call call-station MT-PM-01
At this kind of call-station only analog audio and a control contact is wired via network
installation cable. Maximum cable length is 500 Meters, at which already a slight loss in high
frequency response can be observed.
Warning! Only one piece of MT-PM-01 – type callstation shall be connected to the
MT-AMP 1000.
2. Maximum cable length MT-PM-06
Generally recommended for analog microphone signal transmission is a maximum total cable
length of 200 Meters. Accepting a slight loss in high frequency response, you can go up to
500 Meters.
Without using a separate power supply unit for this callstation, the following cable lengths may
be applied. As an example the values below are valid for CAT 5 installation cable with a core
diameter of 0.56 mm. The callstations are connected thereby at the end of the line. However, if
they will be distributed over the cable run, more length is allowed, but in total not more than 500
Meters:
1 callstation MT-PM-06 without keyboard-extension
1 callstation MT-PM-06 with 4 keyboard-extensions MT-PM-K12
6 callstations MT-PM-06 without keyboard-extension
6 callstation MT-PM-06 with 4 keyboard-extensions MT-PM-K12
If cable run will exceed the above limits, an additional power supply unit has to be connected to
a callstation. Use a well stabilized 24V DC unit for instance a wall-outlet type.
Alternatively the wire cross section can be increased by paralleling several conductors.
3. Maximum cable length Wall Control Panel MT-WCP-6
MT-WCP-6 is connected to the MT-AMP 1000 by means of analog audio and a RS-485 digital
control port. The same RS-485 port is also used at the MT-PM-06 callstation, this is why the
following is valid:
The total cable length added from all callstations MT-PM-06 and the wall control panel
MT-WCP-06 may not exceed 600 Meters. For instance, if the sum of all callstation cables
together is 400 Meters, then for the cable run of the wall control panel only maximum
200 Meters is left. If no wall control panel is used, as mentioned above, the callstations cable
may be run up to 500 Meters.
