    Safety precautions: Warning:  Read through these operating instructions before starting to use the device and keep them safe for later consultation.  To avoid injury, keep long and/or lightweight objects, such as clothing (scarves, ties, etc.), jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, etc.) as well as long hair away from the opening where paper is inserted.
  • Page 3: Operating The Shredder

    Placing the shredder: 1. Place the device on a smooth and flat surface. 2. Ensure the device is positioned in a distance from heaters or other sources of heat. 3. Where possible, avoid using extension cables or multi-way sockets. It is advisable to connect the device directly to the wall socket using the power cable (in accordance with the technical specifications).
  • Page 4 Shredder capacity: The 91608 is capable of shredding up to 10 sheets of paper (DIN A4, 80g/m²) at once. Paper width may not exceed 22cm. When shredding small pieces of paper, such as envelopes or credit card receipts, the paper should be inserted in the middle of the opening. Please ensure that you never insert more than the stated maximum quantity into the cutting unit as this may damage the device.
  • Page 5: Turning Off

    Removal of leftover paper: Set the switch to “OFF” and unplug the power socket. Remove the shredding attachment, and then you will able to take out any scraps of paper that have become caught in the cutting unit. The blades are very sharp so you should proceed with extra caution! Place the shredder attachment back on top, plug in the power socket and turn the device on again.
