(scanning), converting digital documents into
hardcopy form (printing), transmitting hardcopy
documents over telephone lines (faxing), or
duplicating hardcopy documents (copying).
Hardcopy documents are commonly in paper
form, but they can also take other forms, such as
positive or negative transparencies or film.
