Wire Sizes

NOTE: Make sure the proper extension cord is used and
is in good condition.
The use of any extension cord will cause some loss of
power. To keep this to a minimum and to prevent over-
heating and motor burn-out, use the table to determine
the minimum wire size (A.W.G.) extension cord.

Unpacking and Checking Contents

Unpacking

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from unex-
pected starting or electrical shock, do not plug the
power cord into a source of power during unpack-
ing and assembly. This
unplugged whenever you are working on the saw.
Your miter saw is shipped complete in one box.
WARNING: Although small, this saw is heavy. To
reduce the risk of back injury, get help whenever
you have to lift the saw more than 10 inches.

NOTE: Before beginning assembly, check that all parts
are included. If you are missing any part, do not assem-
ble the saw. Call 1-800-4-RIDGID or E-mail us at
info@ridgidwoodworking.com if any parts are damaged
or missing. Sometimes small parts can get lost in pack-
aging material. Do not throw away any packaging until
saw is put together. Check packaging for missing parts
before contacting RIDGID.

1. Remove the miter saw from the carton by lifting the
saw by the carry handle.
WARNING: If any part is missing or damaged, do
not plug the saw in until the missing or damaged
part is correctly replaced. To reduce the risk of
electric shock, use only identical replacement
parts when servicing double insulated tools.
2. Place the saw on a secure stationary work surface and
look the saw over carefully.
