IMPORTANT: Whenever possible, place
the child restraint in the rear seat. To
place a child restraint in the front seat,
you must turn off the passenger side air
bag. (See the Air Bag Off Switch section
of this guide and Section 1 of your
Owner Manual for more information.)

Secure a child restraint designed for
the LATCH system
• Find the passenger seat LATCH
anchorages by placing your hand
(palm up) between the seat cushion
and the seatback (see "A" above).
• Put the child restraint on the seat.

• On forward-facing child restraints,
attach and tighten the top tether to
the top tether anchorage, if your
vehicle has one (see "B" below).
The child restraint instructions will
show you how.
• Attach and tighten the LATCH attach-
ments on the child restraint to the
LATCH anchorages in the vehicle.
The child restraint instructions will
show you how.
• Move the child restraint in different
directions to ensure it is secure.
Remove the child restraint
• Unhook the top tether from the top
tether anchorage (if equipped).
• Disconnect the LATCH anchorages.
Note: Do not secure a child restraint in
the center rear seating position if a
national or local law requires that the
top strap be anchored, or if restraint
manufacturer instructions say that the
top strap must be anchored. Do not
attempt to secure a child restraint in the
center front seat position. The restraints
won't work properly.
