Access the traffic announcement
feature
• Press the TRAF button.
TRAF appears on the display if the sta-
tion you're currently on broadcasts traffic
announcements. If the station doesn't,
the radio seeks one that does. If no sta-
tion is found, the radio displays NO
TRAF. When a traffic announcement is
being broadcast on the tuned station,
you will hear it, even if the volume is
muted or a CD is playing.
Access radio station messages
• Press the INFO button when INFO
appears in your radio display.
After the message is displayed, INFO
disappears from the display. Longer
messages appear in three-second inter-
vals. To scroll through the message at
your own speed, press the INFO button
repeatedly.
Turn the Program Type selection on
or off
• Press the P-TYPE LIST knob.
• Turn the P-TYPE knob to select the
Program Type you want.
• Press the SEEK or SEEK TYPE
button (as it applies to your radio)
and the radio seeks to the first RDS
broadcast of the selected Program
Type.
AM/FM (Alternate Frequency)
This feature allows the radio to switch to
a station with a stronger signal and of
the same PTY.
Activate the Alternate Frequency
feature
• Press and hold the button for two
seconds to turn it on; repeat to turn
it off.
When turned on, AF ON appears on the
radio display and the radio may switch
to stronger stations of the same PTY.
ALERT!
This message appears in the display
when a local or national emergency
announcement is available. If a CD is
playing, the announcement will override
it. ALERT! announcements cannot be
turned off, but are also not affected by
tests of the Emergency Broadcast
System.
AM/FM Stereo with Six-Disc CD
Changer (if equipped)
Load one CD into the six-disc CD
changer
• Turn the ignition on; then press and
release the LOAD side of the LOAD
CD button.
• Wait for the green indicator light at
the right side of the slot to turn green.
• Insert the disc partway into the slot,
label side up; the player will pull the
disc in.
