     This camera is a plug and play device. You can download the pictures and videos captured by your camera without the software by directly accessing the camera’s memory card from your computer. It is recommended however that you install the Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager Software to enjoy the full Vivitar Experience.

  • Page 6 POWERING THE CAMCORDER ON Installing the Batteries Make sure to properly install the 4xAA (1.5) batteries. Batteries not included. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended. Battery Power:  Some features, will not work if the battery power level is low.  When the battery power is low the battery icon turns red and the camcorder will automatically turn off a few seconds later.
  • Page 7 When powering the camcorder ON for the first time the camcorder will take you through the initial camcorder setup. SETTING THE CAMCORDER LANGUAGE After powering on your camcorder for the first time, you will be prompted to select a language for the camcorder.
  • Page 8 The ViviLink technology allows you to quickly and easily upload your camcorder’s photos and videos to the social networks of your choice with the accompanying ‘Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager’ software application. First you will be asked to choose the default ViviLink social network for Photos.

    Main Camcorder Modes Your camcorder has different modes for the various camcorder functions. You can switch modes by pressing the HOME button. The HOME menu is shown on the LCD. Tap Camera, Video, or Playback to change your camcorder mode. VIDEO CAPTURE MODE Use this mode to capture videos with your digital camcorder.

    Changing Camcorder Mode Your camcorder has three main modes: Video Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos with your camcorder. Photo Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture photos with your camcorder. Playback Mode (for photos and videos) - Use this mode to view the photos and videos you have already taken with your camcorder.

    Navigating the Menus You camcorder includes the following menus:  Home Menus  Camcorder Mode Menus  Camcorder Setup Menus HOME MENUS The Home menus allow you quick access to the camcorder modes, camcorder setup settings as well as to the features of photo Slide Show and Power Off. To access the Home Menus: Press the HOME button.
  • Page 15 CAMCORDER MODE MENUS Each camcorder mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. To access the Main Menu Screen for the current mode: Enter the Main Menu Screen from Video Capture, Photo Capture or Playback Mode:  Press the MENU button to open the menus for the current mode. NOTE: Tap Return to exit the menu screen without selecting a menu and return to the current mode.
  • Page 16 CAMCORDER SETUP MENUS The general settings for your digital video camera can easily be changed at any time. To access the Camcorder Setup Menus: Press the HOME to open the Home Menu options. Tap the Setup icon to enter the menu options for your camera general settings. NOTE: To exit the Setup screen without selecting a menu, tap Return to return to the Home Menu screen.

    The ViviLink technology allows you to quickly and easily upload your camcorder’s photos and videos to the social networks of your choice with the accompanying ‘Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager’ software application. A ViviLink destination can be assigned to a photo or video in Capture Mode prior to capturing your image or in after you have captured your image in Playback Mode.

    Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos with your digital camcorder. When the camcorder is first powered ON, the camcorder will be in Video Capture Mode. TAKING A VIDEO Power on your camcorder. Video Capture Mode is the default mode that appears upon powering on. Video icon appears on the top left.

    Video Playback Mode The Playback Mode allows you to review and edit photos and videos that you’ve already taken with you camera.  When you first turn on the camcorder, it will be in Video Capture Mode by default.  To access the Playback Mode: Press the MODE button to toggle between Playback Mode and Video Capture Mode.

  • Page 28 LOCK Pictures and videos taken with your camcorder can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. The Lock Menu options include: Locks or Unlocks the selected file (video or photo) Locks or Unlocks all files (both videos and photos) This icon indicates the selected image (video/photo) is now locked and protected from being edited or deleted.

You can also disable the timestamp for future images taken with your camcorder. The Date/Time Stamp Menu options include: The timestamp will appear on photos taken (Default).

    FORMAT MENU You can use the Format SD Card menu to delete all of the content that is currently on your camera’s memory card. Keep in mind that formatting the memory card will permanently delete all of the content on your camcorder’s memory card.
