5. Troubleshooting

Symptom: There is no LED activity at power on.
Check that the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is properly connected.
Symptom: There is no dial tone when the phone is picked up.
Check that the PSU is properly connected.
Check that the RJ11 cable is properly connected to the FXS port (the RJ11
jack located near the reset button). There is no dial tone if the RJ11 cable is
connected to the FXO port, and not to the FXS port.
Check that the handset cable of your phone set is completely plugged into the
jack. Make sure that you hear a "clicking" sound when you plug in the RJ11 or
the handset cable.
Symptom: General network activity problems. The device does not appear to
be performing any network related functions.
For Ethernet devices, ensure that the Ethernet connection is secure, and the
Ethernet cable quality is good.
Try pinging the device's IP address from any Unix or Windows machine
connected to the same network. Type: ping www.xxx.yyy.zzz [Enter] (where
www.xxx.yyy.zzz is the IP address of the unit).
Symptom: The device's Web pages are not accessible.
Try to ping the device's IP address. It is the LAN gateway IP if your PC is
connected to the AX-125/145 LAN port.
The unit is trying to acquire a DHCP IP address. Ensure that the Ethernet cable
connection is secure.
Verify that the DHCP server on the network is functioning.
If you do not have a DHCP server or want to use a fixed IP address instead,
you need to reconfigure the device to use a static network assignment.
