Problem
Static, sound cuts in/out,
fades. Interference from
other electrical units.
Noise is heard during a
call.
The handset stops
working while being used.
While storing an item in
the phonebook or
assigning a one touch
dial, the handset starts to
ring.
I assigned a phonebook
item to a desired category,
but category ring tones
will not sound.
I cannot redial by
pressing {R}.
7 flashes or the
handset beeps
intermittently while it is in
use.
I fully charged the
batteries, but 7 still
flashes.
I cannot receive
documents using the
handset.
I cannot make a call with
the handset.
I cannot register a
handset to a base unit.

Cause & Solution
L Move the handset and the base unit away from other electrical
appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high
electrical interference. Locate the handset and base unit away from
interference sources, such as antenna and mobile phones.
L Disconnect the power cord and turn OFF the handset to reset the
unit. Connect the power cord, turn ON the handset and try again.
L To answer a call, press {C} or {s}. Storing will be cancelled.
Store the name and number again.
L You must subscribe to Caller ID service.
L If the redialled number was more than 24 digits long, the number
will not be redialled. Redial the number manually.
L Fully charge the batteries (page 20).
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 20).
L It is time to replace the batteries (page 18).
L The memory is full of received documents due to a lack of
recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper (page 17)
or clear the jammed paper (page 88).
L The call bar feature is set. Turn it OFF (page 69).
L You dialled a call restricted number. Remove the number from the
call restricted list (page 71).
L The key lock feature is turned ON. Turn it OFF (page 28).
L The maximum number of base units are already registered to the
handset. Cancel unused base unit registrations from the handset
(page 74).
L The maximum number of handsets are already registered to the
base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the base unit
(page 74).
L You entered the wrong PIN. If you forget your PIN, consult your
nearest Panasonic service centre.
L Locate the handset and the base unit away from other electrical
appliances.
